The dough-proving rise is satisfying and the matte texture holds up to a lot of idle squeezing. Only reason it's not a full five is the faint smell when I first opened it. Nothing awful, sort of a new-foam thing, and it was basically gone by day two, but it was noticeable enough that I wouldn't have wanted to hand it straight to a kid that first afternoon.

But I pictured it bigger, at about 9cm it's more palm-sized than the listing photos led me to expect, so it felt a little underwhelming opening the box. There was also a faint chemical-ish smell the first day; that aired out completely after sitting on the windowsill overnight, to be fair. If I'd known the actual size going in I'd probably be happier with it.
